The world may be smaller than you think, and this year at the Beringia Centre, we are making a bold and perhaps controversial claim – that every life form on the planet is only a few steps from our backyard! First, choose a plant or animal from anywhere in the world. Second, create a single food-web chain consisting of six (or less) connections, for example, the plant was eaten by this insect, which was then eaten by this animal, which was then eaten by this bird. Third, end your chain with a species that presently lives (or once lived) in Beringia. Once you have a valid food chain, fill out the submission form located here or email it to us at Beringia@gov.yk.ca. We will select some of the more interesting contributions every week and post them on our website. Happy hunting!
