Tuesday July 6: Mammoths for Dinner

*Space Available*

Imagine eating mammoth steaks in a shelter made of mammoth bones! At this camp, you’ll play games and partake in fun activities to help you learn about these massive creatures and how humans hunted them during Beringian times.

 

Le 15 juillet: Cornes, barbes et qiviut- le boeuf musqué au coeur de la Béringie (French Camp)

Embarque dans cette odyssée vers l’arctique. Découvre comment le bœuf musqué a survécu aux changements climatiques de la dernière époque glaciaire. Pratique tes talents d’apprenti-muséologue et construit ta propre exposition.

 

Tuesday July 20: Wild and Woolly

Come see our new muskox! Learn how this hairy creature protected itself against predators and survived the icy Berigian winter. Spend the afternoon on a field trip to the Wildlife Preserve to see living muskoxen! Play games and partake in fun activities inspired by this mysterious creature.   

 

Tuesday August 3: It's a Bony Situation

Spend the day digging for buried bones. Try out the tricks of the archaeological trade. Do crafts, play games, and learn about the best ways to recover ancient Beringian skeletons!

 

Tuesday, August 17: Furious, Ferocious Fun

*Space Available*

Fun frolicking fills your fancy. Find out who the top predators were and why. Sit back and be awestruck by the size of these predators and the tactics they used during Beringian times. Sharpen your senses before encountering what may be even sharper teeth!

Tuesday July 13: Little Sprouts for Little Sprouts

First People lived off the land. Come visit the first ‘grocery stores’. Enjoy a bug and flower hunt. Play exciting nature games. Plant a seed and watch it grow!

 

Tuesday July 27: Hoofing it around the Klondike

Bonanza! Thar be bones in them there hills! Saddle up and discover ancient horse remains buried near Dawson City. Come dig for bones in the gold fields – maybe you’ll find a treasure of your own!

 

August 10: Big Bear Picnic

Come meet Beringia’s biggest bear. What would a Short-Faced Bear eat on a picnic? Would it be you?! Bring your teddy bear and come play games, enjoy crafts and have a sing along.

 

August 24: We Dig Dinosaurs

*Space Available*

Dinosaurs lived in your backyard. Come meet them! Join us as we learn their names and what they ate. We’ll follow their tracks, dig for bones, and do crafts.

 


Pick-up/Drop-off: Please pick up and drop off Campers at the front door of the Yukon Beringia Interpretation Centre.

Clothing:  Please wear older clothing, and appropriate outdoor gear.  With the excavation and various activities, clothes tend to get pretty messy!

Note: It is important to let the Camp Leaders know if your child has any allergies or special needs.
