Welcome to the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre (YBIC)! We are delighted to have you here!
YBIC provides a range of activities and programs for visitors to enjoy and is committed to nurturing curiosity and cultivating critical thinking and science literacy. This includes a combination of pre-booked, and everyday activities.
While here, we ask that visitors are respectful of the building, its contents, other visitors, and our staff.
Here are a few ways you can help to get the most out of your visit and help us ensure an enjoyable experience for all:
Behaviour
Running, climbing, pushing, shouting, and roughhousing are not allowed in the centre. Appropriate behaviour, decorum, and conduct are necessary to avoid accidentally bumping into and damaging exhibits.
Speak quietly and do not yell. It is important to be considerate of other visitors around you so everyone can enjoy their visit. Any actions or displays that promote hatred or discrimination towards individuals or groups will not be tolerated.
If you have children under 12 with your group, we kindly ask all accompanying adults/chaperones to stay with them throughout the duration of your visit. This includes non-guided free time around the centre and in the kids' cave area after any planned programming. This helps to maintain a respectful environment for all visitors.
Coats and Large Bags
Visitors are encouraged not to bring large bags, backpacks, or suitcases into the centre; however, should you need to, larger items can be left near the front desk or in our coat closet at the front entry. Please ask our front-desk staff for details. The Beringia Centre is not responsible for any items left in the closet.
Unattended items left in other areas of the centre may be removed and disposed of due to safety concerns.
Photography
Personal photography and videography are permitted in our exhibit galleries. Please NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY, and be respectful of our other visitors when taking photographs and videos.
Commercial photography and videography are only permitted with approval from the Beringia Centre management team.
Photography and videography are not permitted in the theatre during films or presentations.

Cellphones
Cellphone use is permitted within the centre’s exhibit galleries, but we ask that you be respectful of other visitors when using your phone. Phone use is not permitted within the theatre during films or presentations.
Accessibility
The Beringia Centre’s grounds, exhibits, theatre, washrooms and most programs are fully wheelchair and stroller accessible. A wheelchair and a walker are available, free of charge near the front entrance, on a first come first served basis.
